This summer our team plans on revisiting the families at El-Ghor camp. After seeing the success and joy that the playground our UIH team built in Khal Al Ahmar, Palestine, we’d love to implement the same for the children within El-Ghor camp.
Back in 2017, our team visited Jordan and worked alongside the borders in an area called El-Ghor. There we met over 30 Syrian refugee families working in the fields and living in makeshift tents. Since then we’ve continued our efforts in providing as much as we could by visiting twice a year. The El-Ghor camp has a gorgeous mountain view of Jordan’s neighboring countries, however, aside from that, it’s open fields. Children spend their days running up and down the fields putting their imagination to work in order to come up with some games to kill time.
During our visits, many volunteers spent their time singing and playing with the children. They’d often beg us to take them on a field trip. After seeing the success and joy that the playground our UIH team built in Khal Al Ahmar, Palestine, we’d love to implement the same for the children within El-Ghor camp. This summer our team plans on surprising the children and their families with not only providing the basic necessities but with a playground as well.
Sometimes, the smallest of things can make a big difference in someone’s life. To some, it’s just a playground, but to these children who in fact have already faced and seen so much at young ages, it’s their home. Their childhood. Their freedom to simply be young and carefree. Our team is certain that this playground will put a smile on their face each and every day after we leave. So help us put a smile on their face this summer and share or donate today. Thank you!
